Jasmine and JOanne

See you soon Jasmine

We are so excited to see Jasmine leave us to head on maternity leave for 6 months to have her baby girl.

Jasmine and I have worked along side each other for the last 6 years and life without her at the Academy is certainly going to be an adjustment.

Jasmine started at the Academy as one of our Singing and Piano teachers in 2018.

When I admitted I finally needed help with the office a couple of years ago, she very subtly mentioned; "I'd be interested".  And the rest was history.

I honestly don't know how I did it all before her and I feel like I'm loosing my right arm 😂

So when she sent me a message saying; "can we have a meeting" I couldn't help but immediately call her and ask what was wrong.

She laughed and said "I'm pregnant" which led me to almost cried with joy.

It took a few months for it to sync in and that in reality it meant she was leaving us (TEMPORARILY).

Again, in her very beautiful manner, she gently reminded me regularly - have you started to look for my replacement 😂

I'm not one to bury my head in the sand but this I was definitely avoiding and she knows me too well.

But the universe has a beautiful way of working and when I advertised the job one of my very first singing students sent me a facebook message;

"this would be the perfect role for me ðŸ˜‰"

And just like that, after a couple of years of not seeing Joanne, she's back at the Academy.

Introducing Joanne

Moving from London to Auckland at a very young age, Joanne found comfort in music.

She has been in various music lessons ever since and eventually found her way to Eliette’s Music Academy.

Having left Eliette’s to study at MAINZ in 2018, coming back to work here is a full circle moment.

She plays guitar, ukulele, and banjo - with the biggest passion being for songwriting.

Drawing inspiration from her love of sad indie-pop; artists by the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Julia Jacklin, and Noah Khan keep her songwriting brain working overdrive.

She is so psyched to be here and is looking forward to what the coming year with EMA will bring.
