Meet Siche Zhang
What is your first music memory?
Richard Clayderman’s concert that my parents took me when I was four. He is a French pianist that was and still is very popular in China since the late 80s. Because of that, my parents have asked me if I wanted to learn piano, and I don’t think I can remember but I assume that I said yes.
When did you first learn an instrument?
When I was 4, I started learning Classical Piano.
What drove you to practice and play when you first started out?
The curiosity for piano and strong discipline that I learned from my parents.
Are you still excited about developing your craft?
Yes, being curious about music and how it relates to philosophy and psychology. Music production, performance, songwriting, composition, singing… our souls are infinite beings, so our curiosity and excitement for creation are also infinite.
When did you first start teaching?
I started teaching piano and music theory in 2012.
What is your advice for people learning music?
Learning music is learning your soul, Know Thyself. Our souls are all infinitely talented, be willing to explore and discover of our own talents beyond our understanding.
